Recorded Macros:
Recording a Macro is one of the simplest ways to start automating your repeatable tasks. You just need to be aware of a few Tips and Tricks to enable your recorded code to run on New Data.
Power Query:
If manipulating Data is your main automation requirement then Power Query is your go-to Tool. We quickly discover that for cleaning up data this tool if far superior than a recorded Macro and as a result forms the core component of the course.
Power Pivot:
Uses the underlying Data Model and DAX Formula to build complex Pivots from multiple tables. (As this is not actually an automating tool it's an optional extra for the onsite version of the course)
PowerPoint Integration:
If you use PowerPoint (or Word) as your reporting vehicle, then this section helps complete the Source-to-Report loop of dynamically updating your Data from Excel.
VBA
The new kid on the block (aka Power Query) as fantastic as it is, can't automate everything Excel, whereas VBA (Macros) can. We introduce you to the basics of VBA and use some classic Excel requirements to show you how you can adapt Googled code from the Internet to suite your own auotmation requirements.
